Destination World

About Destination World

Destination World (DW) began as an idea within the Missions Interlink NZ community in 2007.

Mission work rarely gets explained well or regularly profiled in many churches these days so the Destination World Partners decided to present mission in a fresh new way for a new audience.
Destination World began as an interactive educational mission experience using basic props and live Kiwi actors to help provide visitors with some insights into different aspects of cross-cultural mission.

Our Events

  • At Parachute in 2008 the Destination World experience involved immigration, exposure to Africa, the Middle East and Asia, an introduction to the persecuted church, and a prayer hall*
  • At Parachute in 2009 Destination World focused on issues ‘Our Kiwi Missions Heritage’, ‘Displaced People’, ‘Children at Risk’ and ‘Creation Care’*
  • In 2010 the Parachute Destination World experience took visitors on a futuristic ride through history to look at preventable disease, poverty, and refugee/persecuted people*
  • In 2010 Destination World grew to include DW:THE CALL, a mission conference aimed at the 18-30 age bracket. Designed to help participants investigate the call to God’s mission here in New Zealand and overseas, DW:THE CALL is an interactive, highly relational, practical and entertaining 2-3 days of exploring mission

*All experiences included a debrief with experienced mission consultants
